GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Twelve Walmart stores in West Michigan are being renovated this year with more corner displays, additional space to explore products and QR codes to learn more about products and services available online.
Walmart describes the renovation as the “store of the future” concept. The design features “enhanced layouts, expanded product selections and innovative technology to help associates better support customers and make their shopping experience more convenient and enjoyable,” according to a press release.
Here is a list of the stores undergoing the renovation, and the month in which the work is expected to be completed:

- South Haven, 201 73rd St., May
- Ludington, 4854 W US Highway 10, May
- Benton Harbor, 1400 Mall Dr., July
- Wyoming, 355 54th St. SW, August
- Kalamazoo, 6065 Gull Rd., August
- Ionia, 152 W Sprague Rd., September
- Comstock Park, 3999 Alpine Ave/NW, September
- Greenville, 10772 W Carson City Rd., Nov
- Plainwell, 412 Oaks Crossing, Nov
In the past two years, more than half of the state’s 90 Supercenters will have been upgraded, officials say. In addition to Supercenters, Walmart has 23 Sam’s Clubs in Michigan and three Discount Stores.
