Eunice man arrested in connection with carjacking at Walmart

EUNICE, La. (KLFY) – A Eunice man was arrested after authorities responded to a carjacking Thursday at Walmart, according to Eunice police.

Around 1 p.m., officers responded to Walmart in reference to a carjacking that occurred near the grocery store’s pickup area. Before officers arrived, 24-year-old Antonio Freeman of Eunice, the suspect, left the scene on foot and attempted to break into a private home in a nearby neighborhood, according to authorities.


Responding officers patrolling the area were able to quickly capture Freeman. Freeman is charged with carjacking, criminal damage to property and attempted residential burglary, according to EPD.

According to authorities, no injuries were reported.
