Domaine Barville Chateauneuf du Pape

2005 Vintage
Tasted: February 2011

While I would normally write something more intelligable, I couldn’t help but leave my original notes intact on this one because it just seemed to say it best. Chateauneuf du Pape is not the easiest wine to drink if you’re an Australian Shiraz lover, but I personally revel in these earthy French Old World wines. So here it is, not for the faint of heart, or the girly wine drinkers out there, but great nonetheless.

Syrah/Grenache blend. Leather, dirt and berries on the nose. Pungent musk. Big, big, nose.

Fresh berries on the mid palate. Leathery earth finish.

This could age for years to come.
