As far as customizable WordPress themes are concerned I feel like the Canvas theme by WooThemes is probably the best that I have tried. Other themes like Thesis are highly customizable, and have developed a loyal following and a bunch of spin-off theme skins, but the Canvas theme is just plain easy.
Where Thesis requires a bit more programming knowledge, despite using special “hooks” that allow for short form coding, the Canvas theme requires very little technical knowledge. Some understanding of CSS is useful, but overall it is quite easy to customize.
The Canvas theme has some easily activated theme templates including a business template, magazine template, contact pages, photo galleries, etc. The theme also allows for very easy customization of background images, colours, and general layout style. Typography settings are also easy to change.
My favourite Canvas feature, however, is the custom navigation feature. Many premium WordPress themes are lacking flexible navigation menu options and the Canvas theme solves this problem with a fully and easily customizable menu. This is a major plus.
While Thesis may offer more infinite customization, the WooThemes Canvas theme will be easier for the average user to get the look and feel they want whether creating a blog or a product or service website using WordPress as a content management system (CMS). This is a theme that will let you focus on content creation and achieving a clean and aesthetically pleasing site, while spending less time mucking around with layout.

Looking at any WooTheme you can not assist however notice how incredibly created these types of styles tend to be. Not really are WooThemes aesthetically stimulating, however they are designed to supply excellent user interaction as well as continue in order to contemporary website design developments.
Overall, the high quality themes made by WooThemes are better than the majority of styles in the market today.
I jumped into WordPress for the first time in late June using Canvas. Within a couple of weeks the site was up and running. I wanted a simple clean website, very happy with Canvas.
Now I am building a blog using Canvas (Magazine style). So far so good, and thanks to Chris for your help.
