Bear Flag Red Wine
I’m always a little scared when a wine says something like Red Wine Blend on it. I just don’t know what that means. What’s scarier about this wine aside from the name is that it also says 1+1 = 3 on the label.
While I’m sure there is some logic to what that means, after one taste of this wine I had no desire to figure that out. In terms of taste I would say this wine is very simple. To me it was like opening up a jar of Smuckers Jam. If you like your wine to taste like Jam this is the one for you.
The Bear Flag Red Blend hails from Modesto California, and is made up of Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, Merlot, and Tempranillo. The price in British Columbia is about $13 and in the USA is around $10.
What to Eat With It
- I would pair this wine with scrambled eggs, ketchup, bacon, sausage, etc.
- This is the wine you drink at breakfast, or when you eat breakfast for dinner
Who to Drink This With
- Appropriate company for this wine would be fun loving young females who “like” wine, but don’t necessarily like it for it’s brooding complexity. This is wine you would drink for fun before a night out on the town, or at a summer BBQ.
