Blue Mountain and Friends Charity Soirée

I did a bit of photography for the Blue Mountain and Friends charity dinner a few weeks back. The dinner was hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver and benefited the BC Children’s Hospital.

In addition to a generous contribution from the Blue Mountain Vineyard a host of Vancouver’s best restaurants also donated their time and culinary delights to the event. On hand for the event this year were: C Restaurant, DB Bistro Moderne, Five Sails Restaurant, Lift Bar & Grill, O’Doul’s Restaurant & Bar, Provence Marinaside, Raincity Grill, refuel neighbourhood restaurant & barThe Shore Club, and YEW Restaurant + Bar.

The food was spectacular and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Foolishly I took the vow of “Sober January” and didn’t get to taste any wines, but as a consolation to myself I have tried most of them before — just not in conjunction with the amazing food they were dishing up at this event!

Today I stopped by the winery to take care of some other business and there was a nice little package waiting for me. Some new additions to my wine rack are the upcoming release of the 2008 Blue Mountain Pinot Noir and the 2005 Stripe Label Reserve Pinot Noir and also a 2005 Stripe Label Reserve Chardonnay. Exciting stuff and a nice thank you for some charity work — although I do a feel a bit guilty for taking it. Charity means you do it gratis does it not?
