Traffic in Marrakech

I will admit that crossing the street in Marrakech is one of the most mortifying things that I’ve done travelling. To the locals it is probably organized chaos, but compared to places like Shibuya in Japan where mass amounts of people cross the street in an orderly fashion, this is total chaos!

I’ve compared it to the 80′s video game Frogger before, and that is exactly what it feels like. Just try not to get squished. The best way to cross the street in Marrakech is to follow some locals. They seem to have a more intuitive sense of timing to dodge between taxis and oncoming motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic.
