The Drake Hotel Toronto
After a weekend of camping in bug ridden Algonquin Park for an outdoor research project a stay at The Drake on Queen Street West is just what the doctor ordered. I was lucky to snag the XL suite at a reasonable rate. The room was perfect for business travel in the sense that I didn’t want to leave, so I got enough done for a change.
The hotel is also home to a nice rooftop patio bar, cafe, and music spot. The crowd in the hotel is the type that wears graphic t’s with a sports coat in an almost painfully trendy fashion. The menu is great. I had a burger and it was particularly awesome and served medium rare. The El Diablo margarita with ginger beer and cassis was exceptional, and I will definitely be back to try the foie gras stuffed doughnut.
Room 202.
